I just purchased a new Trutrak ADI with gps.
After reading the installation instructions I checked Vans Air Force forums to see how others had handled the static port connections. I found several posts that described a large internal leak in the ADI when it is connected to the static system. These posts said that Trutrak told them that this was normal. Why does the instrument have a static port connection that leaks internally?
I feel uncomfortable about just porting the ADI to cabin air. What have others done and, more importantly, why is there a internal leak in the first place?
Can anyone shed some light of this?
