Edit in case the link ever breaks:

This only applies to older Digiflight units with the built in magnetometer (e.g. not the newer models which simply try to hold heading by flying level as backup to GPS signal loss) which have ALSO had an upgrad to the new blue screen BEFORE the date of this post. The symptom is that when the photosensor dimmer circuit changes state (goes from light to dark or the reverse) then the AP will command an altitude change.

Hi Lucas,

Just saw this thread (http://www.vansairforce.com/community/showthread.php?p=375057&posted=1#post375057) on the RV forum. My control head should be in the shop for repairs right now. Please review.

Thanks!

We have confirmed this "phenomenon" in units that have the new display, but the older magnetometer style circuit boards. We are looking into the solution for this right now. As soon as we have the answer, I'll post.

No AFS Pilot units will be affected by this problem as long as it has the EFIS/AP buttons, it's good to go regardless of if it's had the display changed or not.

Digiflight II units that still have the magnetometer in them (show HDG in the top left with no GPS signal), are susceptible to this problem. We should have a fix for this very soon and will take care of anyone who has this issue. Thank you all for your patience.

This problem has been resolved. We were able to modify the units to prevent this problem now, regardless of the boards in the unit. Thanks to everyone for your patience! If anyone has any concerns, please let me know.
