Lucas (I assume it's you),
I plan to use a handheld AWM (4800 baud) and a panel mount Northstar(9600 baud) switched for my Pilot II.
My understanding is I will also have to change the pilot II input via the setup mode each time I do this.
Is there any other work around for this situation?

Yep, it's me. Although there are other employees of the company on here, I'll probably be the primary one hanging around.
Unfortunately, there's no work-around for that situation. All of the autopilots (save the Altrak) must have their baud rate selected in the setup. The ADI flight instrument only (non-AP model) is the only one that is auto detecting. You'll have to change it back and forth as you change the GPS source. Thanks!

OK,
I noticed in the manual (downloaded)you need to go all the way through the setup with the lower right button to exit the menu ... or is there another way to exit more quickly ?
Lower right button 4 times to set baud then ?? ( lower left button to exit or no ?)
Just speculating.
Thanks again!

You have to go ahead and cycle all the way through until you see OFF. Thanks!

I read in your eariler post that an ADI (non A/P) will 'auto-detect' a GPS input signal baud rate. Is that really true? The manual I have says the baud rate needs to be set at 4800. I am also installing a VP-200, and it requires a GPS baud rate of 9600. Will my ADI work correctly (and auto-detect) a 9600 baud rate?
Thanks for the help.

The wording there seems it may be a bit ambiguous. The part labeled "GPS Setup Guide" starts by describing most portable/handheld GPS units. All but a few of them run at a maximum baud rate of 4800. While our units will accept lower baud rates, 4800 is the minimum for good performance.
The ADI can auto-detect any acceptable baud rate up to a maximum of 9600. I hope this clears it up. Thanks!
