View Full Version : New Software Version?

I have a Digiflight II VSGV and a GRT HX EFIS.

I flew it last night for the first time since it was returned from Trutrak 2 days ago with the latest software installed. This was also the first flight with the new Autotrim module.

The last time I flew, I needed to press the mode button to get into GPSS mode and the Alt button to get into GPSV mode. Last night, I pressed the mode button only and the screen changed to show (I think) "LS" and "LV" and the autopilot commenced both lateral and vertical control.

Can someone tell me if this is a change with the latest version of the software? i.e. have the GPSS and GPSV indications been replaced with LS and LV and the two-button pushes (mode and alt) replaced with just one (mode)?

Is there a reference somewhere I can read that outlines the changes with each new software version?

Thanks,

Hi Dave,

I swore I answered this on Friday, but alas it is not here.

The new indication stands for EXTernal Lateral Steering and Vertical Steering. It has been reduced to a single button press now. If you're in EXT LS mode, it will automatically couple to a vertical steering signal when present.

I apologize about the manual, I'm working on this revision and haven't had a chance to finish it yet. There will be an updated version available on our website soon.

Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

Lucas, I have a relatively new Digiflight II VS. I have about 10 hrs on it so far and it works GREAT in my Glasair. One thing I've noticed, which I believe to be a programming error is that if I'm in GPS mode and have commanded a vertical speed, all I have to do to level out is press the ALT button on the right. If I'm in heading mode and have commanded a vertical speed, I have to manually dial in a VS of zero in order for it to level off. This sometimes becomes quite difficult if I'm in turbulence. Is there a fix for this or can you provide the "reason" that it was programmed this way?

Thanks

Chad

Chad,

Can you give me the actual software version you have? It will be displayed with the AP powers up. I will look into this here. Thanks!

The software version I have is 2.32
Am I correct that my autopilot is supposed to go back to altitude hold mode if I press the Alt button (when I was previously in VS mode), regardless of whether I'm in GPS or heading mode??

Thanks, Chad

If you're in Track mode and the cursor is under the SEL numbers, you have to hit ALT twice to get to altitude hold. If you're in GPS Nav, you should just have to hit it once. I'll load 2.32 into a unit here and check it out. Thanks!

Lucas,

OK, that makes sense. Is there a newer software version than 2.32? Mine came with the new blue screen, so I figured it would have the latest, greatest software installed.

Thanks Again, Chad

Lucas,
What is the newest revision for Digi II GSVS version and what are the changes/improvements from 2.32?

Also, will you correct me if my understanding of "single button press" is correct?

If I my EIFS has a altitude preselect function, then the "altitude hold" function of the A/P does not exist any more and will operate only in GPSV mode once I select GPSS mode, do I understand this correct? If this is correct, is there any option to upgrade and still keep the old way of operating "multiple button press" ?

In the newest version, you can toggle the vertical steering back off after engaging GPSS/GPSV mode.

Lucas,
I am really not sure if I am getting it. When you say toggle to vertical streeing, does it mean by pressing the mode to go to GPSS, it will automatically puts you in GPSV if present? And if this is true, can you go back to Alt hold by pressing Alt button again?

What is the newest version #?

Thanks
