What is a good setting for the autotrim potentiometer for initial flight testing? This is installed with an AFS branded DigiFlight II VSVG in an RV-8.
Thanks

A good place to start is crank it all the way counter-clockwise, then about 1/4 turn back clockwise. You might need to do a little fine tuning from that point, but it'll get you started.

Lucas, another question. For initial DigiFlight II VSVG setup and testing, is it OK to have the auto trim module in the circuit, or would it be better to install the auto trim jumper connector? The jumper would eliminate one variable during this process. Your guidance is appreciated.
Also, what are typical DigiFlight II VSVG initial settings for an RV-8 (gain settings, etc).
Thanks

Since you'll be trying to dial in the autotrim as well, it would certainly be easier to test the AP with the autotrim bypass plug installed, but not necessary. Activity settings of 2 for both vertical and lateral are a good starting place for all of the 2-place RV's.
