I have an AFS branded TT DF II VSVG autopilot. When in EFIS mode, all is good. If I press the CWS button, that works as it's supposed to, but when I release the CWS button the AP defaults back to AP mode, not EFIS mode. Is this the way it's supposed to work?

Jim,

That's the way it's supposed to work. When you enter and then leave CWS mode, it's simply going to synchronize to the current ground track and vertical speed, not any external steering modes. Thanks!

Thanks Lucas. The way it works is probably actually a good thing, and will allow you to reset bugs prior to going back to EFIS mode. That way you won't get unexpected heading or altitude changes. The TT AP does work differently than a King AP I had in a Bonanza with respect to CWS. Thanks for the clarification.
