GPS connection

For the serial connection to the AP, do I need any special wire (twisted pair, shielded), and do I need a ground from the GPS to the AP, or just ground each to the airframe?

The GPS must be grounded to the airframe somewhere. It does not have to be grounded to the AP. The connection to the AP is just one wire.
