G'day TT,

We are having problems with a Digiflight 2VS fitted in a new VANS RV-9A. The panel has a Dynon D100 EFIS + D120 EMS, plus analog ALT, ASI,and VSI. There is the usual static port in the aft fuselage. We have checked the static system and it has no leaks - but it's obviously a larger than usual volume.

The Digi has been running for 25 hrs total, and we cannot get the SVS to function. The unit holds altitude OK, except a small nose drop in turns, which we've minimised by setting '2' in the static lag box. It was calibrated out OK, follows and holds track well, and will intercept & track the 296GPS.

The unit is v 2.24

Suggestions?

When you press the ALT button, what happens? On the VS model, when engaged it should synchronize to the current vertical speed. Then you can press the ALT button to get the cursor to the SVS selection. The cursor will only stay under SVS for three seconds. Use the knob to adjust the value. If you are getting the value adjusted and the servo is not doing anything, make sure the vertical torque is set to 12. If that all checks out, let me know.

Lucas,

Yes, VT is set @ 12. We are able to adjust the underline, and then select a VS of anything between 1000 up or dn - but there is no change.

In all other functions it's working fine.

cheers

Lucas,

Can you give me a comment on the apparent failure of the 'SVS' function of this IIVS unit? Is this a software, (=retrurn), problem - or have we pressed the wrong sequence of keys?

thanks,

Ralph

Ralph,

I apologize for the late reply as I have just returned to the office from AirVenture. Check the voltage at pin 6 of the servo. If it is 5V then it is possible the servo amp could be bad and the servo will need to come in for repair. Let me know. Thanks!
