I finally got my Digitrak wired correctly and found that it works pretty well, but I have 3 questions.
1. The display shows the degree it is following but once every 2 seconds an "F" is displayed. Is this normal?
2. In pretty good turbulence it seems to wander. The 'activity' level is set at 6. Should this be increased, or is the cure something else?
3. Is this unit capable of following a GPS route? If so, how do I do it?
Thanks for being so patient.

Bill,
The F interspersed with the mag heading is great. It means the Digitrak is getting the flight plan from the GPS.
Activity: is the rate the ailerons are moved to correct for errors. If the aircraft seems to be behind in course corrections, jack up the "activity". If it seems to be jittery, reduce the activity.
Once you get the "F", just press both left and right arrow buttons at the same time (for a short time). Unit will follow the GPS course.
Sounds like you are near to full success!

Thanks, John. I'll test it tomorrow.

You are welcome. Now if I can get mine to work the same way. (again) It sure makes long cross-country flying less tiring, and gives me more time to consult maps or approach plates. I have not been able to contact tech folks at TT. I believe they are all at Sun-n-Fun.
Mine has been getting flakey over the past month and now will not initialize.
By the way, after you press both left and right arrows (to enable track of the GPS course), the number displayed is the error from the correct course in degrees. It normally will be low (or zero), but can be higher at a GPS commanded turn. It also can be higher if you set a GPS destination, but wait a while before hitting both left and right arrows, because you have flown slightly off the original track line. The Digitrak will attempt to get you back on the original track. Good luck on your setup.
