Tech,
I have a ADI Pilot II installed on an RV-10. Initially the autopilot worked perfectly. After 45 hrs on the plane, the autopilot will not hold course or couple with the Lowrance 2000C GPS. On the ground the servo engages and the control stick feels like its "locked-on" as if the plane was flying straight ahead, yet in the air it won't hold course. I've been thru the set up steps again. Any clues? Altitude hold works.

Does it wander back and forth or does it simply proceed in whatever direction it sees fit? When you engage it on the ground, have you commanded a turn? The stick should move in the direction commanded. If the stick just sort of stutters in place, it could be a bad connection to the servo or a bad amp in the servo. Let me know what you get when you command a turn on the ground.

The autopilot doesn't seem to hold and begins to turn off course. While on the ground it won't make a turn when commanded. It remains "locked" in place. Before I could hear the servo motor and the stick would move as commanded.

Bill,
Check to make sure no pins have come loose in your wiring harness. I will go ahead and PM you an RMA number for your servo. But better to check everything on your end lest it end up being something simple like that. Thanks!

Lucas, have installed the back servo from the altitude hold to the right wing location. The control stick now moves back and forth when the ADI is engaged and the right knob turned back and forth. This suggest that the original servo is not doing the job, so it is coming your way via UPS. Hope you can determine what is wrong.
